Bistro - New York Style.
The client’s brief was to create a “New York” vibe for his new venture, in trendy Double Bay.
Timber framed stackable doors, gave clear vision from the street and when fully opened, created a terrace for alfresco dining, on balmy nights.
A mix of light and medium polished oak timbers were used for wall and column cladding, doors, chairs and stools, counter and bar tops, and the inlay floor. Also used as detailing in the bar, for the back-illuminated bottle shelving and wine storage.
Peter Rektor’s lighting skills created flattering concealed lighting in the bistro area bulkheads and low mood lighting in the bar area.
